Social media undoubtedly has a positive side to it. For one, it enables people from diverse backgrounds who would otherwise not have had the opportunity to interact to do so. That said, however, it unfortunately enables cyberbullies to unleash vitriol on others. Such destructive behaviour is unbecoming of the one who says he’s a child of God, according to Ps. Richard Addae, Pastor, Church planter, new media consultant and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of MarichWorld, a social media consultancy firm.

In a series of tweets, Pastor Richard condemned the growing trend of savage responses to other people’s tweets, contributions and posts. Quoting scriptures to further drive home his points, Ps. Richard explained that Christians ought to ensure that their words are full of grace and uplift others instead of putting others down.

He ended his series of tweets by saying that a savage response is a dishonorable response and urged believers in Christ Jesus to honour others with their words as words are indicative of maturity.
