The world does not revolve around a married woman, according to Ps. Mildred Kingsley-Okonkwo, wife of Ps. Kingsley Okonkwo, lead pastor and founder of Davids Christian Centre, Lagos, Nigeria.
Speaking on “7 Mistakes Married Women Make, part 1”, Ps. Mildred explained that marriage was not created by God to make the woman happy, but rather for the woman to help the man fulfill his purpose. She urged all women to quit nagging when they are unhappy with their husbands, and instead to realise that marriage is not about what they can get, but what they can give.
Other points raised in part one of this message:
- Supporting the wrong decision – She admonished wives to be bold to speak truth in humility to their husbands and not be a partner with them in wrongdoing
- Familiarity – Ps. Mildred acknowledged how easy it is for wives to become familiar with their husbands by virtue of the fact that they see everything others don’t. However she stressed the importance of respecting husbands, knowing that God observes all things.
- Not taking care of themselves – According to Mrs. Kingsley-Okonkwo, married women are fond of letting their guards down once they marry. She advised that they make the effort to look good as men are moved by what they see.
