Lecturer at the Trinity Theological Seminary, Accra, Rev Professor David N. A. Kpobi has urged President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo to act speedily on the Justice Emile Short Commission Report on the violence that marred the Ayawaso West Wuogon by-election on January 31, 2019.

The call by Rev Prof Kpobi comes after the Commission on March 14, 2019 presented its report to President Akufo-Addo. Chair of the Commission, Justice Emile Short said he was confident the findings and recommendations would be useful in shaping reforms for the future.

Speaking at the unveiling of a new cathedral of the Holy City Fellowship International, Rev. Prof. Kpobi said the President cannot forever be quiet over the findings of the report.

“It has been more than a month since the report was presented and the whole country is expecting the government’s White Paper on it, but the president has not even coughed about it.

“I guess it is going to happen sometime – I mean he cannot be quiet forever – he would have to speak,” he said.

Meanwhile, Rev. Kpobi in his sermon urged his fellow preachers to do more evangelistic work, saying “Accra needs Jesus.”

“Due to the stress and struggles in Accra, people who feel the church is not providing them with solutions, tend to consult ungodly mediums for solutions. But I believe the church has the capacity to stem that problem if the clergy works harder at making members focus on Jesus himself,” he urged.

The Executive Director of Holy City Fellowship International, Evangelist Prince Appiah Kubi also urged colleague pastors to set their priority right in their ministry.

“It is sometimes worrying to see how some men of God enrich themselves at the expense of church members but do not care about the well-being of their followers,” he said.
